OCLC Recognizes McDermott Library
McDermott Library has been recognized for exceptional work in resource sharing as an OCLC Express Library in providing outstanding service in digital delivery.
In January 2021, McDermott Library received an invitation to join OCLC’s Express Digital Delivery program, which is a consortium of top performing resource sharing libraries around the world. The goal of the program is to connect high performing libraries with each other to provide speedy delivery of library materials to their communities.
Over the last 5 months, McDermott Library’s Interlibrary Loan Department has maintained an average delivery time of under 10.2 hours to participating members.
This achievement is attributed to the outstanding work of Sharon Tadlock, Sheila Blankenship, and Travis Goode and has elevated McDermott Library with the recognition of being in the top 10% of OCLC libraries worldwide in delivery time of electronic content.
Through resource sharing, McDermott Library promotes equity in education in providing scholarly literature to researchers around the world.
The Interlibrary Loan service is free to current UTD students, Faculty, and Staff.
