Adaptive Workspace

The Adaptive Workspace (MC 2.408 – Media Center) is available to UT Dallas students, faculty, and staff with disabilities on a first-come, first-served basis. An active UT Dallas NetID is required to use the equipment.

Note: This space is intended for studying and research purposes. Due to its location, group meetings are not allowed.

Saturday & Sunday, 11am to 7pm

SARA and PEARL scanners

Convert books to digital text for reading aloud via the Open Book software. Converted books can be saved as TXT (plain or rich text), MS Word, or audio files.

Screen reading software that assists with computer navigation.

First Time?

Make an appointment with one of our Accessibility Librarians for a brief introduction (about 15 minutes). They will help you feel comfortable using the space and answer any questions you may have.

Print & Copy Assistance

Services Desk staff are available to assist with the copying and printing of materials in the Library Copy Center.

You will need an active, loaded Comet Card to pay – B&W, 6¢/side; Color, 25¢/side. Add cash using the Add Value machine near the copiers (bills only), or use the GET App to use a credit or debit card ($10 minimum).

The Interlibrary Loan Department will help convert and electronically deliver book chapters and journal articles in the requested format (OCR, PDF, etc.).
