Entrepreneur and tech industry veteran helping to steer UT Dallas’ future.
For over 35 years, Ron Nash MS’79 has helped guide successful entrepreneurial ventures across the United States. From Dallas-Fort Worth to Georgia and California, Nash has served on the boards of over 10 different companies. He is currently a board member at Pivot3, a Texas-based IT service management company where he was previously CEO and chairman of the board of directors.
In addition to his corporate leadership, Nash is dedicated to the well-being of his community through his support for higher education. At his alma mater, Georgia Tech, Nash is a trustee of the Georgia Tech Foundation and previously held several advisory roles across the university.
After graduating from Georgia Tech, Nash earned a master’s degree in management from the Naveen Jindal School of Management at The University of Texas at Dallas. He remains involved with University as a trusted advisor, providing administration with expert guidance for the good of the entire UT Dallas community.
Nash was co-chair of the Realize the Vision campaign — UT Dallas’ first major comprehensive fundraising campaign — which raised more than $273 million to help the University achieve Tier One status as a major research institution.
He is a member of the UT Dallas Executive Board and previously served as chairman of the Jindal School’s Advisory Council. As part of their longtime support of the University and Jindal School, Nash and his wife, Susan, established the Susan C. and H. Ronald Nash Distinguished Professorship of Finance and Managerial Economics in 2010, currently held by Dr. Michael Rebello.
“I’ve been very blessed to participate in this University in a lot of different roles, initially as a student and then as a volunteer. I’ve benefited from all of those roles,” Nash said at the investiture ceremony for his professorship in 2015.
For his leadership and service to UT Dallas and the broader community, Nash was honored with the 2011 UT Dallas Distinguished Alumni Award.
