On May 26-27, the UT Dallas community will celebrate Comets Giving Days. This annual tradition is an opportunity for Comets across the globe to give back to the people, programs and places that had the biggest impact on their lives.

For the second year in a row, Comets Giving Days will last 1,969 minutes in honor of UT Dallas’ founding year. In 2020, thousands of alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends came together to raise over $1.1 million for causes all across campus. This year, the Comet community will look to surpass this total by raising more than 3,000 gifts over two days.

Exciting challenges and matching gift opportunities will boost individual donations throughout the event. Check out the many ways you can extend the impact of your generosity before making a gift and keep tabs on the giving leaderboard to see if your favorite campus group will earn big bonuses!

Looking for other ways to make a difference during Comets Giving Days? Sign up to be a digital ambassador to spread the word about your favorite causes on campus and let the world know why you love UT Dallas. Rewards and prizes will be given to digital ambassadors for their participation during the event, including the chance to join President Richard C. Benson for a virtual coffee meeting or win an Apple Watch.

This year, Comets Giving Days will also include a food drive to support the Comet Cupboard, UT Dallas’ food pantry dedicated to helping students in need. From now until May 27, items donated to the Comet Cupboard will count as a Comets Giving Days donation, making donors eligible to win extra funds for any area of campus they choose.

Until May 25, food items can be dropped off at the UT Dallas Police Department. On May 26-27, bring any donations to Lot G, where Comets will be creating a mural with collected cans of food.
